Now Commander Adama of the Battlestar Galatica and President Laura Roslin lead a ragtag fleet of refugees in a supposed search for the fabled lost thirteenth colony, Earth. However, the dangers they face are many, which compound an already difficult situation. In addition to the Cylons hunting and attacking the fleet in space and their infiltrator units carrying out sabotage–even as their former unwitting pawn, Gaius Baltar, helps in the hunt for them while hiding both his own guilt and the strange presence that haunts his every thought–the fleet also faces internal political conflict in which the rabble-rousing figure Tom Zarek is merely the loudest dissenting voice, not to mention recurring shortages of food, water, and even oxygen. In the midst of these trials, however, clues begin to appear to suggest that Adama's bluff about finding Earth might hold more truth than anyone could have guessed.
When an old enemy, the Cylons, resurface and obliterate the 12 colonies, the crew of the aged Galactica protect a small civilian fleet - the last of humanity - as they journey toward the fabled 13th colony, Earth.
The new BSG has some really excellent visual effects on a par with big budget space flicks such as Pitch Black. <br/><br/>It was a bold move to redo the characters in such drastic ways, <br/><br/>Starbuck (A-Team cheese meister Dirk Benedict) , the archetypal 70&#39;s ladies man is rendered as a cute, kickass woman although she does have her share of emotional problems.<br/><br/>Apollo, (Original actor has cameo in new BSG) , is well kinda the same.. wooden and not particularly interesting <br/><br/>Adama, new Adama is 2x more hardcore than than the orig <br/><br/>Boomer , now some Chinese minx and there&#39;s a base star full of clones , get me onboard!!!<br/><br/>But by far the best and stealing each and every scene he is in, the new Baltar is awesome. OK i loved the old irrepressibly evil Baltar constantly confined to deepest bowels of a Cylon base star, but the new rendering is wonderfully entertaining and storywise a lot more logical. James Callis does a fantastic job here imo <br/><br/>I admit to being confused as to the role of religion + the cylons , and the &#39;find way back to earth&#39; legend , and i think Helo is lame, but WOW ..THAT ENDING SERIES ONE!! <br/><br/>cant wait .. give me more episodes .. please for the love of Caprica ..need second series
Not since &quot;Babylon 5&quot; have I seen such good acting. It, more then anything else, takes Galactica to new levels.<br/><br/>Well written, and very well planned, the show deals not only in the sci-fi well known doom of all mankind, but also goes to into great detail, showing us all aspects of the human mind - good and bad alike.<br/><br/>also, a great idea of putting the old series captain Appolo, to play the new series Villen (one of them, anyway) - Tom Zareck. He shows his versatility, and gives Galactica a scent of nostalgia.<br/><br/>I only hope the finish the job, and don&#39;t get cut short like Babylon.<br/><br/>10 Stars!! A true MUST SEE !!
